Hello everyone. Now that I've got the group working a few quick deets for Saturday.
We'll be doing a character creation session from 4 until about 7:30
Any race or class ideas you've got are good for me, just let me know if it's any crazy homebrew stuff you've found.
I'll be asking you a bunch off questions to help you make and understand your character and how they fit into the world around them. But you don't even have to have an idea when you arrive if you don't, we can build them up from scratch if that's the case.

The game will be taking place in my homebrew world, just because I know more about my world than i do about the forgotten realms. So rather than Waterdeep we'll be adventuring around Cuan Domhain. Jewel of the Himling Coast, Greatest city of the Open Lands of Turons and capital of the Independent State of Combria. A city where wondrous tales of urban adventure awaits. (Although it's near enough the same as Waterdeep)

So looking forward to it and I'll see you Saturday to roll some stats

So the official campaign is up and running. Week one ends this Sunday (14th October) and week 2 starts as of opening next Wednesday (17th October) don't worry if you cant get going this week, there will just be a -1 deduction across all resources per week missed to ensure the resources stay fair for everyone

There isn't an official day that you have to play the campaign games - use this group to arrange to meet others in store on a day that suits you to get your weekly game in. (Thursdays are getting very busy so please prebook a table if you'd like to play on a Thursday to avoid disappointment and Fridays, i'm afraid, are a no go as the Magic events fill up the shop).

You only need to play one game a week to stay in the running for all the goodies and there's a lovely campaign tactic card as a participation prize each week... will you collect them all?

    Coming Soon! KeyForge
Enter a world where anything is possible in KeyForge! In the center of the universe hangs the Crucible, an artificial world built from the pieces of countless planets. Here, in the world's first Unique Deck Game, created by legendary designer Richard Garfield, two players step into the roles of mighty Archons, racing to forge keys that unlock the Crucible's hidden Vaults.

    Hey guys.

After much deliberation and discussion I have decided to stop DMing this Saturday D&D session.
It pains me greatly to do this but I believe it to be the right choice.
I am finding that I am not having fun and it usually brings out the worst in me and I start to get frustrated and depressed.
I believe that this group will never 'gel' and I don't want to keep it going and fooling ourselves into thinking it might get better (afterall we have been playing for over 6 months and it seems to be getting worse rather than better).
I blame myself not you guys as I am the DM and I should have been more aware and not allowed myself to become ignorant of the problems at the table.
I'll still of course come to the shop on Saturdays to play other stuff and maybe you could find someone else to DM for you (check with Kat/Jon). It's a shame to drop mid campaign I know

We all play these games to have fun, once they stop being fun then they lose their point. I am very grateful for the time you spent as DM and for how welcome I was made to feel upon joining the group.
Please don't blame yourself for this, you were faced with 4 players of varying ages and personalities and I'm sure that many DM's wouldn't have lasted nearly as long as you have. I hope this doesn't put you off playing or DMing in the future but for now enjoy the time off

To the rest of our group I think we need to look hard at how we played and any personal frustrations that arose from our sessions. To cause a DM frustration and even worse depression from a weekly 4 hour session falls upon the players.

In fact, that it ever works at all is a bit of a miracle! 6 months is nothing to sniff at, and everyone will have learned something from the experience.
Blame isn't useful really, and there will be things each person at the table can do differently next time they sit down to play. Sometimes groups don't work sometimes they do. D&D, roleplaying or life, it's always a work in progress, so don't dwell too much on it. Just make yourself a promise to improve this time, and next time and the next.
Good work Leigh, DMing is tough and I admire your persistence and the way you aim to make sure your players are having fun.
